Studies in the Art Anatomy of Animals is a brief analysis of the visible forms of the more familiar mammals and birds, designed for the use of sculptors, painters, illustrators, naturalists, and taxidermists. Illustrated with 100 drawings by Seton, this was his first book, originally published in 1896. Ernest Thompson Seton (1860-1946), was a naturalist and author, who trailed and hunted in Manitoba's prairie country during the 1890s. He wrote and illustrated Wild Animals I Have Known (1898) and other animal stories, favorites with young readers since.
